Two Chinese rescued by Indian coast guard at high sea

New Delhi: Indian coast guard professionally undertook one more life saving operation by evacuating two Chinese nationals from a Singapore registered vessel mt ocean crown, at high seas, off Mumbai.

The 245 meters long vessel was on passage from Sikka / India to Port Sao Bastiao / Brazil. at about 2145 hrs on 18 July 14, the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre Mumbai {mrcc (mb)} received a request from master of the vessel to evacuate two Chinese national from the ship, as the crew had sustained accidental injury onboard, while working on the deck. It was informed that the crew was provided first aid, but injuries sustained required immediate specialized medical attention.

When the extensively burned-out and listing 6,750teu MSC Flaminia was drifting in the Channel in August 2012, desperately battling against time as it sought a port of refuge, not too many would have expected to see the distressed vessel back in service.

The ship caught fire in mid-Atlantic, en route from the US Gulf to North Europe, claiming the lives of three crew members and forcing the ship to be abandoned.

However, just over two years later MSC Flaminia has left the repair yard in Constantza, Romania, and resumed the remaining three years of its time-charter with ocean carrier MSC.

Le secrétaire général du Syndicat National des Cadres Navigants de la Marine Marchande, s'étonne dans un communiqué diffusé dimanche du suivi par la préfecture maritime de Toulon  de l'accident nautique du Méga Express 5 de la Compagnie Corsica Ferries il y a quelques jours à son départ de L'Ile-Rousse. Par ailleurs les marins du Monte d'Oro ont distribué samedi à Nice des articles de presse relatant les mésaventures du Mega Five qui a repris du service depuis…

Presentan denuncia penal contra barco encallado en Veracruz

 

Por daños ocasionados a la zona arrecifal "Lobos-Tuxpan", la Procuraduría Federal de Protección al Ambiente (PROFEPA) presentó ante el Ministerio Público federal denuncia penal contra el capitán y la empresa propietaria del barco mercante norcoreano, Mu Du Bong que el pasado lunes 14 de julio encallara frente a Tuxpan, en el norte del estado. El buque jamás informó sobre el encallamiento en la zona natural protegida desde 2009, y autoridades de la Capitanía de Puerto de Tuxpan han mantenido hermetismo sobre el caso, aún cuando elementos de la Secretaría de Marina custodian la embarcación y prohíben acercarse a ella.
