Stena Drilling, the Aberdeen-based subsidiary of Sweden's Stena, has been awarded a contract to drill up to two wells offshore Morocco. Energean, a London-listed company, has booked the 2009-built drillship STENA FORTH in response to Chariot's farm-in offshore North Africa.

The sixth-generation dual-activity harsh environment rig currently drilling for Shell in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Egypt will be drilling one appraisal well on the Anchois field with an option to the rig to drill another well. However, the finance details have not been disclosed. It is anticipated that the drilling campaign at the Lixus licence, managed by Energean, would commence during the third quarter of 2024.
