Petroleum Products Importers Accuse DPR Of Collusion With Importers Of Adulterated Products

The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has come under heavy criticism by operators over illegal import of adulterated petroleum products by importers at the popular Ibafon petroleum jetty in Lagos.

This allegation was leveled by operators, even as they further accused the agency's officials at the jetty of sabotaging the essence of their establishment.

The operators who pleaded anonymity revealed that the practice is common at the Ibafon jetty, but added that the Ijora jetties are not left out.

Sources revealed to Shipping Position Daily, yesterday, that officials from the DPR found joy in dealing with importers that bring in such sub standard products over those that import high quality products.

En una conferencia de prensa efectuada ayer en el Ministerio de Defensa, el canciller Luis Almagro dijo que, gracias al acuerdo firmado con la subcomisión de Naciones Unidas, Uruguay incrementó su territorio subactuático en 80.500 kilómetros cuadrados más.

ICS explains shipping industry commitment to reduce CO2 emissions, at ‘Tyndall Centre’ Event in Liverpool

At a major conference 18 June in Liverpool, United Kingdom, hosted by the renowned Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research, Peter Hinchliffe, Secretary General of the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), gave the keynote speech explaining the shipping industry’s commitment to reducing its CO2 emissions, ICS said in its press release.

Mr Hinchliffe said that shipping is the only industry with a mandatory global regime in place, agreed by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), to reduce its CO2 emissions. “We are therefore already on a pathway to deliver ships by 2030 that will be 30% more efficient than those of just a couple of years ago.”
