OSK Design unveils Baltic Patrol Vessel (top, middile) at Euronaval 2024

Danish ship design company OSK Design introduced the new Baltic Patrol Vessel at Euronaval 2024 exhibition held in Paris from 04-07 November 2024.

OSK Design press release

The Baltic Patrol Vessel is a further development of a patrol vessel developed for the Lithuanian Navy, the “PERKUNAS”. The idea was to scale the vessel down to minimize procurement cost but also the operational cost but keeping much of the functionality from the PERKUNAS. A theme for the project is to reuse the design solutions from the PERKUNAS but adjust the number or size of the new design.  Reusing solutions saves time and money both in design and production if the synergy is used correctly. The two ship classes can share the ship’s equipment, sensors, and weapons system and the modular package allows additional systems to be exchanged between units of the same or different classes.

Development of this smaller version was made to illustrate that we can make tailored designs on the basis of standard solutions, to minimize design process, production, and operations cost. If needed we can have other dimensions of the hull to fit customer requirements but keep the commonality of sensors, weapons, and drone systems.
