De lo que no cabe duda es de que el patrón percibió una situación que, desde su punto de vista profesional, le resultó anómala

 

Cuando veo una y otra vez el vídeo de Localizatodo que reproduce los últimos minutos a flote del Mar de Marín, un escalofrío de impotencia recorre mi cuerpo. Basándonos en las evidencias que nos proporcionó su AIS, se percibe que su patrón tomó una decisión cuyas razones son por ahora un enigma que aún no podemos descifrar, pero que, sin lugar a dudas, cuando tengamos acceso a todas las grabaciones existentes y al resultado de las inspecciones realizadas, podremos conocer.

El Gobierno publicará antes de abril de 2015 un informe con los resultados de las investigaciones sobre las causas del hundimiento del pesquero «Mar de Marín» en la Ría de Vigo, según ha informado hoy en una respuesta parlamentaria.

NTSB: engine room fire on board Arctic Storm

 

NTSB Marine Accident Brief

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has issued Marine Accident Brief regarding engine room fire on board fishing vessel Arctic Storm.

On the afternoon of May 20, 2013, a fire broke out in the engine room of the uninspected  fishing vessel Arctic Storm as it was under way in the North Pacific Ocean, about 46 nautical  miles west of Aberdeen, Washington, conducting fish processing operations. The crew  extinguished the fire through the combined use of portable extinguishers, fixed suppression, and  fire hoses. No injuries or pollution resulted from the accident. The estimated damage to the  Arctic Storm was $5 million.

IT is a reef that is regarded dangerous by seafarers.

Since time immemorial, the Vatoa reef in the Lau Group has wrecked some foreign-owned ships.

The ships were on their way to Fiji with either cargo or coming here to take beche-de-mer — a product that was being traded in the early years.

While the ships were wrecked after being stranded on the reef for some time, the crew members and some passengers on the vessels were able to reach safety.

Finnlines vessel runs aground in Sweden

 

Shipping company reports that no passengers are injured or in danger after the Finneagle passenger-cargo ship runs onto rocks in the Kapellskär harbor, north of Stockholm. Divers are examining the vessel before plans are made for its removal and possible continuation of its journey

The shipping company Finnlines passenger-cargo vessel MS Finneagle has run aground in Kapellskär harbour, 90 kilometres north of Stockholm. 168 passengers and 30 crew were on board. According to Finnlines no-one was hurt and no-one is in danger due to the incident.

”It was what you might call a safe grounding,” Tapani Voionmaa from Finnlines said.
